If you have a webFCA form, you might get spam robots who fill out the form and send you junk email.

You can reduce the amount of spam and prevent these robots from filling out your form illegitimately.

Spam Protection, is also called CAPTCHA
Captcha  = Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart

To implement this feature into your existing form, follow the instructions below.

  1. Log into your webFCA site
  2. At the top of your website, select "Organize Content>Forms>View Existing"
  3. A new window will open up
  4. Click the name of the form you want to add Spam Protection to...
  5. The form will open in a new window
  6. Click the "Security Image" button in the left hand column.

  7. You have now added Spam Protection to your Form
A few important notes...
  • Each time that a page is refreshed the image in the box changes and the person filling out the form is prompted to duplicate the text found in that box.
  • If the text field is filed in with the matching text the form will be submitted.

  • If the box is left empty or filled out incorrectly the form will not be submitted.  It will retain any fields that have been filled out.  The page will also produce an error message directing the person to retry duplicating the text from the image.
